About Marathon
Marathon has been making jewelry in Attleboro, Massachusetts since 1897. The same family still owns it, now in the fourth generation, and every piece is still made at their own Massachusetts factory rather than sourced from overseas. In a case where almost nothing else can say that, it is worth saying plainly: this is American manufacturing, a few hours up the coast.
What they make reflects that longevity. Marathon is the company you come to for the pieces that mark something: a christening or baby gift in sterling silver, a first locket, a child's first real bracelet, a religious piece meant to be kept. They work in sterling silver, gold-filled, and 10K, 14K and 18K gold, and every item carries a lifetime guarantee, which for jewelry given to a six-year-old is not a small thing.
The company has also become the steward of some genuinely old New England names. It owns Kiddie Kraft, Kovel, and LeStage, the Attleboro Falls house founded in 1863 that makes Cape Cod Jewelry and the convertible bracelets with interchangeable clasps that half the Northeast grew up collecting. Marathon kept that production in the United States after acquiring it.
Elsewhere in the line, Evening Tide runs nautical and the Kovel collection works in opal, mother of pearl and semi-precious stones, with a portion of those sales supporting ocean conservation through Oceana.
Gray's Jewelers Bespoke is an authorized Marathon retailer. Come see the collection in our Saint James showroom.
