Question 1

Where can I buy an engagement ring near me on Long Island?

Accepted Answer

Gray's Jewelers Bespoke sells engagement rings at 429a North Country Rd in Saint James, New York, serving Smithtown, Stony Brook, Nesconset and the surrounding Suffolk County communities. The showroom is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm. Bridal consultations can be booked at /pages/bridal-appointment so the time is set aside for you.

Question 2

Can I pick a setting and a diamond separately?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and most people do. Choose a setting from the collection, then search loose diamonds at /diamonds by shape, carat, color and clarity, natural or lab grown. Gray's Jewelers will show you the stones side by side in the setting before anything is set, so you are judging the actual combination rather than two pictures.

Question 3

Does Gray's Jewelers make custom engagement rings?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Custom engagement rings are designed and made in house, which is where the Bespoke name comes from. You can start from a sketch, a family stone, an heirloom ring to be reworked, or a photograph of something you liked. The process starts at /pages/bespoke-jewelry-design or with a consultation.

Question 4

Which engagement ring designers does Gray's Jewelers carry?

Accepted Answer

The bridal cases include Gabriel & Co., Vlora, Diamonds Forever and Orefice Designs, alongside rings made in house under Gray's Bespoke. The full Gabriel & Co. bridal collection can be browsed here and ordered, so you are not limited to the settings physically in the store.

Question 5

Does Gray's Jewelers make custom engagement rings?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Custom engagement rings are designed and made in house, which is where the Bespoke name comes from. You can start from a sketch, a family stone, an heirloom ring to be reworked, or a photograph of something you liked. The process starts here or with a consultation.

Question 6

What is the difference between a natural and a lab grown diamond?

Accepted Answer

Chemically and optically they are the same material, graded on the same scale. The difference is origin, one formed in the earth and one grown in a lab, and price, since lab grown costs less per carat. Gray's Jewelers carries both and will show you the two next to each other so you can decide with the stones in front of you rather than in the abstract.

Question 7

Can you rework an heirloom ring or reset a family diamond?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Heirloom redesign and restoration is one of the store's core services, and resetting an inherited stone into a new setting is one of the most common requests. Details are at here. Bring the piece in and the team will tell you honestly what the stone can and cannot support.

Question 8

How long does a custom or special order engagement ring take?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the route. A ring already in the case can go home the same day once sized. A special order setting or a loose stone brought in takes longer, and a fully custom design longer still, because it moves through design, approval and the bench. Bring your timeline to the consultation and Gray's Jewelers will tell you what is realistic.

Question 9

Do I need an appointment to look at engagement rings?

Accepted Answer

No, walk ins are welcome during showroom hours. An appointment is worth booking anyway for engagement rings, since it means a set block of time with someone who has pulled options before you arrive, rather than fitting the conversation between other customers. Book here now.
